Vermont Woodland Ginseng is a family business founded and owned by Perkins family in Vermont. Vermont is known as the Green Mountain State for a good reason - our beautiful northern hardwood forests of Sugar Maple. It is not surprising that Vermont is the home of the finest quality wild American Ginseng. The upland maple forests with rich loam soil found in our rugged mountains are the ideal habitat for this deep forest herb.
Vermont Woodland Ginseng is the only commercial grower of American Ginseng in Vermont. Every one of our tender seedlings was raised from seed on our farm. Each was gently hand-transplanted into carefully-prepared woodland beds for many years of natur.
We are one of the few growers in North America that choose to follow totally organic growing methods. Many people are not aware of the fact that most ginseng has been grown using dangerous fungicides and herbicides containing heavy metals such as arsenic and bromine. Since most people take ginseng for improving their health, they are usually shocked to discover that they have been ingesting heavy metals along with their panax quinqefolia.
We are proud to offer the finest quality American Ginseng, certified as organically grown by NOFA-VT.
